I was in Miami today with my son and his fiancé picking out wedding rings. :-) We walked for a few blocks and came across this historical church downtown. I used to live about 2 miles from this church and have never seen it!
Taken with my Samsung phone. I am so sorry I didn't bring my camera!
@Weezilou Because I was young and unaware?! I am shocked how many places of Miami I have just discovered. Now, I only lived there a year and I was in college plus I worked. Miami was so different then. It was almost a small town with few high rises. Perhaps another reason is I see in Wikipedia it says the church was "recently restored", so maybe it had fallen on hard times and was non-descript. I was glad to show my son and his fiancé where I went to school and lived.
@danette It will mean so much to "your kids" to make these trips with you! Having made many moves in my youth, our girls really have enjoyed visiting places I lived... Ken grew up in one place all his life, and the girls loved their connection to that home as well!
@Weezilou Ha! My husband would say, "shhh"! My parents used to move us every year, so he has been on many an "old house and school" tour! I went to 10 different schools from 1-12th grade in 3 different states and 7 cities. Thus, our boys essentially grew up in one town!
@danette How funny...much the same! Dad was a consulting engineer and we moved 18 x before leaving for college...yet another move! Married Ken after graduation, moved to Dallas for 4 years...came to CA and lived in this same house ever since! Now it's just back and forth between home in NS and here, 6 mo each... suits us just fine!
Gorgeous colors, angle really makes it look to reach way into the sky. Understand how you've missed it, so much I've realized lately I have never really truly noticed until I'm looking at things with a different eye now.
