Ted Smallwood opened this trading post in the isolated 10,000 islands area of SW Florida in 1906. It operated until 1982 and is now a museum. We met his great-granddaughter, manning the museum. Most of the items here were packed up in the 1970's and were actually in the store at the time. This area of the Everglades has been known (in years past) as a great hide-out for criminals.
