Connecting Key West to the world

As a Floridian I certainly knew that Henry Flagler's railroad made it possible for Florida to thrive. This is part of the original Overseas Railroad that connected Bahia Honda Key to Spanish Harbor Key. The State of Florida purchased it in 1935, converting part of it to auto use. A replacement was built in 1972. Oh the things we learn through the lens!
Beautiful shot, nicely composed!
