My mother had us over for a Christmas dinner (my family and my brother's family ), and she asked any of us who play instruments to come and play after dinner. My mom plays the ukulele and my daughter plays the saxophone. Each played several selections for us and it was lovely. For dinner, my mother made a leg of lamb, kale chips with garlic, rice, savory gravy, and multi colored roasted carrots.
My mother also gave each of us a haiku she had written recently. It was a wonderful evening. What a great start to the Christmas season.
I play the ukulele too - what tunes did you choose? Your Mom went to a lot of trouble and it sounded very successful! I like the casual foot up on the other knee position! I don't think I could do that now!
