Punkett of the 10th Arrondisement

My daughter and I used Airbnb for the very first time while staying in Paris and I highly, highly recommend Airbnb over hotel stays (we did another in Provence). We had an apt. in the 10th Arrondisement. When we opened our door, we stepped right out to the bridge over Canal St. Martin, and just down the street was the path to our transportation (we found Gare de l'est to be awesome--every metro, bus, RER access you could want). We could go two ways to Gare de l'est: one by way of a beautiful park or the other by way of a street we never knew the name of (but could identify because of the graffiti--in this case, this road had a graffiti donkey head right where we needed to turn on it!--ha!). But one afternoon, we were making our way back to our apartment, exhausted, and I looked left to see this awesome graffiti with the pink street sign above (about construction, do not enter--I think). THEN, the lady in the shot is walking toward it. I had SECONDS to pull out the camera and wait for her body to enter between the two Ts. And fortunately, she looked left just as I took the shot (I don't think she even knew what I was doing, and I really did not want her looking--I don't like those shots really!). Just so happened her coat was the exact same color.

One of my favs. And I love graffiti for the record, street art more, and commissioned murals more, but this was a fun capture. Rarely works out for me (like bird shots).
Mad skills to see the shot, get the timing and camera perfectly on such short notice!
