Brooklyn Heights Promenade (for best views of Manhattan)
My daughters and I embarked on a "road trip" that included stops in Richmond, VA; Metuchen, NJ; and finally NYC. I drove all the way to NJ, then we took the train into NY for the rest of the time. While in NJ, we visited Mike's family and took a tour of Princeton University --Wowza. Once in NY, we spent our days walking all over and using our 7 day subway/bus passes. I also went to visit friends and family while we were there.
On New Year's Day, the girls and I took the train to Brooklyn (Cobble Hill) to enjoy a nice brunch with a friend of mine from college--we try to meet up if I ever make it into the city. After the brunch, we decided we would walk back to Manhattan via the Brooklyn Bridge--but first we would walk over to Brooklyn Heights to amble along the Promenade to catch some spectacular views in the chilly sunlight!
This is my favorite shot of the girls that I took. faces are a bit in the shade, but I love their expressions. A great trip. We did so, so much, including going to see "Book of Mormon" on Broadway. It was my girls' first experience seeing a Broadway production, and it was just so perfect--we were crying so much from laughter.
More to come. I'm playing with how to continue my albums now that I'm starting my 5th year here (in time, not in photos). What to do? Add another album? My default album will contain my favorite photos that I'm still working on from past and present--mostly travel, special stuff.
