My 5th Japanese "Daughter" is here

My brother is doing so well out of surgery. And yesterday, my 5th opportunity to be a host mom to a Japanese student started. Karin is her name and she is very sweet. I grilled steaks, roasted potatoes and carrots, and sautéed some asparagus for the first rollout of home-cooked American food. Tomorrow, she gets to try cheese grits :)

Off to bed! Adventures ahead.

So relieved to read your brother is doing well -- scary times, I'm sure. And what fun to host another student from Japan! All three girls look quite happy.

How lovely for this young girl to be able to join you and your family in your home! What a great experience for her and I am sure she will be discovering taste sensations with your wonderful cooking! I had grits for the first time last year when Louise @ weezilou made it for me when I visited her in Lunenburg. We had it with butter and salt and I loved it. The addition of cheese sounds delicious!
So pleased the news about your brother is so positive!
