Doin' the Hollow Jig

Today was an "all-tripod" day, including getting good and low with this wonderful hollowed out tree. I feel like I am almost unsure of myself without the tripod lately--I don't even think I can capture a bird anymore as I'm trying to make everything perfectly still. I love it and I don't, but I'm so glad I'm not afraid of trucking that thing along with all of my other stuff now. What a year. So much to be thankful for!
Nice capture and great pov!

Wonderful tree! Not only the crack, but the branches above. I love how they fade to gray in the mist!

The composition is wonderful! The processing too! I am not a big tripod user...only when I have to

@espyetta Night shots, long exposures, things I've been doing lately do not work unless I use a tripod, so I'm glad I'm getting more used to it. I would not normally do a tripod with a shot like this, but I needed a longer exposure due to light, so it was there--might as well use it!

@juliedduncan I loved that fade too! It was like so many arteries I didn't even see initially!

The massive trunk and lacy branches are an interesting contrast.
