With the first blizzard for the entire Twin Cities in 6 years, I just start scattering bird seed directly on my somewhat protected sidewalk by my front door. There were too many birds fighting at the bird feeder! It was a constant gathering of juncos, cardinals, blackbirds, grackles, chickadees, squirrels and a bunny and it was fascinating to watch. I even turned my dryer on for them as the exhaust exits in a corner by this sidewalk and birds would gather on the snow-free portion enjoying the heat? Will spring EVER arrive?????
