Garden snail by dianeburns

Garden snail

Just saw our resident Magpie from yesterdays photo catch a mouse, ran to get the camera but she seemed to want some privacy, then I come across this fellow. If you look closely (perhaps enlarged) you can see his left eye!! It's funny until now I would only get annoyed with them for eating my plants! lol

Gosh I didn't know magpies caught mice. Snails are so graceful. I don't mind them ... it's slugs that annoy me lol.

Great detail - love it. I know i am probably meant to dislike snails, but find them fascinating and beautiful in their own way. :)

@darthkitty They are fascinating, as they are very unusual, but anyone who likes their garden doesn't like them for sure :)

Yes, you really can see the eye. Great detailed shot shows the lovely markings on the shell and the pearly quality of the body. I've always liked snails and found them cute. Of course I live in an apartment and don't have a garden.

@tracelee Thanks for the positive feedback Tracey and fav!

@lynnilou He was on a mission to get somewhere! I had him crawl onto some black plastic which didn't stop him, but they didn't turn out very good.

@junep Thanks June!

@tristansmum I really like his eye, I was very happy to pick it up, but I couldn't get both!
