I was thrilled yesterday to catch this newborn lamb next door to us. I had seen the mum nearly ready to give birth right next to our fence away from all the other sheep and when I got back with the camera the miracle had already happened. It was funny seeing pretty much only after a couple of minutes after being born the lamb trying to get up, instinct urging it to get up off the ground. The mother was licking the lamb non stop to clean him up, at the start she would knock him back over as she licked him. But he just kept trying and finally succeeded, I feel blessed to have seen this, it was beautiful. I left them to it and this morning I see she has a second lamb which must have happened not long after I left them. I had a smile on my face all day :)))
