These two caterpillars were both nibbling on the end of a swan plant stalk. They have eaten all the leaves and are now eating what they can from the plant, including munching on the 'swan' seed cases. They were interesting to watch, as every now and again, they would get aggressive, as if to say 'I was here first!'
What a superb image this; the composition, the PoV, the point of focus, the restricted DoF... all come together to make this a hugely competent example of what makes a good macro image - easy Fav!
