@rhoing Actually, today its been pounding quite a bit. I've had knee surgery done 4 times, and never needed pain pills, but this was more involved, including a complete joint replacement at the base of the thumb, so i've been using the pain pills.
@digitalrn That's why we have 'em, right? I only used them for about 12-24 hours after foot surgery last summer, but I was poppin' 'em like candy for days with kidney stones last October! Get well, friend!!

As an RN, I'm sure you know better than to let your pain get ahead of you. Take your pills! I've had a few surgeries and I know of what I speak. :))) Good luck!
@sueb Sue, the hand surgery went well, just now that the big guns have worn off, and there is more swelling, the pain has increased, so I am trying to stay ahead of it all. I think the cast is getting tighter, so must keep an eye on the swelling. using ice to keep ahead of that as well.
@nikkers I am getting all kinds of offers, and I can only imagine what it would be like if one would win that amount of money. You'd have to be awful careful. I don't know how enjoyable life would really be. I'll try it out and let you know so you can be prepared next time. LOL.
@bradsworld - I heard once that for the big multi-state powerballs, you are 50x more likely to be struck by lighting and 25x more likely to die from hot tap water. All that to say good luck Rick! Somebody has to win, right? :) Oh, and here's wishing you a speedy recovery!
@suelbiz47 Sue, that's what I used to tell mypatients when I worked in acute rehab, but when it comes to pain pills, I always try to do without. this time, I am finding I can't do that. I think once the cast / splint is off I may find relief. the swelling is what is causing me the most discomfort I think.
@callalilla I didn't check my tickets yet Kimberly, but Nikki keeps telling everyone that she has the winning tickets, so I had to prove to her that I was holding the winner (pssst...Don't tell her, but I don't really know for sure. I just love teasing her, and getting her feathers ruffled. Sometimes she can be a real twit, but a good twit)
@burns310 I always say I am helping the elderly, so I am putting it back into the pot, and I am getting closer and closer to feeling old, so I am giving it back to me. (here in PA lottery proceeds go to the elderly, at least that's what they tell us)
