I have just come across a photographic site called 500px ( http://500px.com ).
It looks like a nice clean and simple way to share and post your photos. The simple and free version is limited to 20 photos per week but that should be enough to give it a try and see how it works.
Are any other 365er's using 500px ?

500px is amazing, though it is not for people who are paranoid about having their stuff stolen (because the size and quality of images is so high). I had one major hassle with it, however. I signed up specifically to show my panoramas at high res online, but the site had a bug which meant that the large 280px thumbnails, taken from a panorama, ended up horribly pixelated. The reason was that the thumbnail was sampled as a square from within a 280px-wide thumbnail of the panorama (e.g. 100x100px) and then interpolated back up to 280px. In other words, the large thumbnail, which is the main way people see your pics up front, looked simply AWFUL. Time on the Google seemed to indicate that this was a bug with the site that simply hadn't been addressed. It was pretty glaring though, and I'd be surprised if it hadn't been fixed by now. Will have to take a look again one of these days. I'm curious if anyone has panoramas on 500px, and whether you have encountered this issue? Surely it has been fixed by now...
@dieter as I have only just started on 500px I am not in a position to comment, but I will keep an eye out for such things. It's problems like this that I want to find out about before I decide to use the site or indeed pay for an upgrade. Thanks

@herussell Oh, you should upload too. We always think others are better but others will love and be inspired by your work. I don't consider myself that good but I want to get better and it is encouraging when others like my work.

I'm on 500px. I only upload my very best photos to the site. Lots of talent there (and it can be quite intimidating!) But I love the way the site displays photos and it's inspiring to look at the incredible photos.
@jdonnelly hi there yup found it from Light Stalking site/newsletter been on for a little while. Must say the pictures are amazing, felt really nervous about uploading my modest collection, but a real buzz when you get comments and rated, makes it all worthwhile. Others are correct some awe inspiring stuff there and so much... just browsing through the latest shots is very inspiring, there is quite a lot of 'arty' type pictures, but all the same I thoroughly enjoy it. my modest collection is at http://500px.com/Sue_Laubscher i think ...

@audreyssee it does look a bit intimidating, your right. However, you only ever have to post shots that you feel are your best, not like here where you will want to post something everyday. I am looking forward to getting loads of ideas and inspiration.
