Remarkable Photos from the 1940s USA

My uncle sent this to me via email and I am in awe at the talent of these photographers, and so grateful that they were able to take the images from the color slides and reproduce them for us to enjoy 70 years later.

The pictures were mind-blowing. I especially liked the train pictures. Most of these pictures had great content, which is crucial to taking a great picture. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Wow--those are amazing photos. The one of the school children singing--half those children didn't have any shoes on. I remember my grandmother telling me the farm kids (her being one of them!) would put cardboard in their shoes to make them last longer. When they fell apart, that was it until parents could afford new shoes--whenever that happened.

...and that "girlie show" at the State Fair--two of those three girlies have no joy in their eyes. I wonder what their story was.
