Okay, okay, so I'm a bit of a smart aleck, goof, whatever you want to call it. Has anyone ever posted "Best Viewed Small" in the caption of any photo? Discuss amongst yourselves.
Paul, do I get points off for actually viewing it AND viewing it with the magnifying glass? It's actually a cool pic with lots of leading lines into the darkness. Still looking for the idiot. Baaahhaaaahaaa! @steampowered
Paula! I think, though, that there may be some reverse psychology in play when posting "don't look at this pic OMG it's awful!" How many leg comments did you get? :) @westcoastwallis
In the caption? No... In the write up? Pretty much... Learned that was like waving a red flag in front of a bull and expecting it to stop... Duh! NOT a mistake I wil repeat... I prefer to move on and make wilder and more absurd mistakes ;)
@doyouseewhatisee If you want to look then I am OK with that but if you look at it large then you'll see just how noisy it is and how blurred (reminder: clean the lens on my phone camera before tomorrow)
What are some of the reasons for posting a photo that I wouldn't be happy with? Is it mainly to fulfill the goal of a photo a day, and some days there just isn't time to do something better? I've noticed that in some albums, folks have just posted a picture taken a day or two (or sometimes longer) earlier. I've been trying to post a photo a day, but twice (since jan 1) have ended up using one from the day before because I liked it better than anything I had taken that day.
@taffy
Yeah, I guess that's it. Better to post something (however bad) than nothing at all...
I said so in the description of one of my pictures recently, actually. I don't produce a masterpiece every day (in fact, I have never, to my knowledge, produced a "masterpiece" - but that's beside the point!) because some days I simply don't have time, or I try to get a good shot, and it all goes horribly wrong. I'd still rather post something, though.
This is the picture in question, if you're at all interested:
@taffy@manek43509 I am trying to always post a shot on the day it was taken even if I have better ones from a previous day, because it forces me to go looking for something to shoot every day. As (and if) I improve I may relax that rule but at the moment I think I need that discipline.
Same days my shot may not be the best, but I may have practiced a new technique, new lighting or just the composition. It all is a growth process and the photo a day keeps me picking up my camera.
