Tip on How to Download Latest Canon DPP (Digital Photo Professional Software directly )

Reflections by NTP points out that the Canon DPP is a software bundled with Canon SLR cameras for RAW processing. Canons policy states it is not directly downloadable over internet. So there would be people who might have lost their CD or kept it at office, or somehow needs the software and there is no source. In Canons usually only the updates are available no original software's are available. Here Is steps to get DPP directly. He has searched much for it and finally found this that he has shared with this community:

Step1.
Go to
support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0200289802.html
Step 2.
Enter your cameras serial number ( 9 digit number i guess )
Step3.
There you go you will get a 145 Mb download

About Raw processing.
If you are looking for the most flexibility and the best image quality you can squeeze from your camera, RAW is the way to go. In this post he is going to discuss a simple workflow for RAW that will produce a nice final result. You can adapt this workflow to suit your own style.

As we know JPEG (Joint Photographers Expert Group ) format offers a lossy compression. So camera RAW format ( varies from cam to cam ) records all the light signal that is being fed to the camera's sensor, ( Excptn somewhere he read few Nikon dslrs optionally compress Raw too ) and this helps you to process your image yourself adding the reqarding white balance color contrast etc without any loss to the original image.
Try Google RaW processing and you can find it interesting. Other softwares to try Camera Raw processing are Adobe camera Raw available along with adobe photoshop.
Usually Raw processing isn't considered as editing cameras like Canon 60D there is inbuilt RAW processing that you can shoot in RAW and tweak the settings to obtain a JPEG image.

Those who don't have an SLR still want to explore RAW editing
try downloading RAW files from
RAWSamples - Index
www.rawsamples.ch/
and process it with adobe camera RAW etc..

"Canon DPP would be considered to be the best RAW processing software for Canon, since both offers same Canon engine, You can get the best output "-Joseph Aluka
