There are two broad categories of "astronomy" shots. One just with your camera and lens and camera tripod, usually shooting the Milky Way, the Moon or star trails, relatively simple to do, even with long exposures or many shot stacks in the case of trails. The second is camera attached to a (good) telescope, and then the equipment gets really complex and specialized, usually long exposures and tracking mounts on a tripod and software and databases.
