Jaw dropping shots from the top of the Golden Gate Bridge. Don't try this at home!

Wow. I could try this but somehow I don't think the Runcorn bridge would have the same impact.

Awesome would love to have been able to take those shots.

Wowie, my cousin is a pilot and has gotten some great shots from the air around/above the bridge. One of my favorite bridges in the world. Oh to get that pov op!

Great photos! Here's a brief account of a similar climb: https://web.archive.org/web/20130612142738/http://www.nopromiseofsafety.com/?p=1680

And what's up with what look like dress shoes, not anything resembling safe climbing shoes, on the photographer??

Not quite the same but along the bridges theme.

@motorsports I could stand on top of this bridge to take photos but the Golden Gate....NO WAY. I had trouble just looking at the photos of it!!
Thanks for sharing Paul.

@steampowered what a view. Random facts I have heard about the Golden Gate Bridge - it has it's own special paint - only used on it. By the time they have worked from one end to the other with painting it is time to start again.
Wonder what causes the scratch marks in the paint? Thought it was from the safety lines but it is not uniform.

Great pics you wouldn't get me up there

@sjoblues While the implication from the article-writer in the first article is that the photos were taken by illegally climbing up the cables, given the photographer's footwear and the fact that all of the photos are taken from the very top of the tower, I suspect that it's more likely he managed to gain access via the elevator inside the tower, as in this report:

Definitely a stomach churner view- but well worth the look-see! Thanks for posting.

@abirkill Thanks, Alexis. I didn't even know there was an elevator! I have driven across the Golden Gate a couple times and walked on it was well, and photographed it from ground level, but I don't think you could pay me enough money to ride up in that elevator and stand on top of it.
