Lovely pictures and all, but where are the Australian Aboriginals, the Bumiputra's of Malaysia or the Chinese Matriarchs who are being banished from the southwest of China and why are the costumes and poses so romanticised?

Lovely shots, staged for Western eyes. I was hoping it would be a pictorial archiving of actual practices and traditions.

They are beautiful shots, just not what I was hoping for documentation of, I suppose.

Oh gosh =)
So much talking about these series in Kazakhstan =)))
The articles about these photographs usually fail to mention, that majority of Kazakhs actually live in Kazakhstan and are no way a disappearing nation with a population of about 16 million people =)))
