What do they use to put photos on that is like a clipboard? I went to an art show and noticed that instead of selling photos on canvas they are being put on a material that is about 1/2 inch thick and hard like a clipboard. Sometimes there is foam at the corners to keep it away from a wall. I liked it and was wondering what the material is. Anyone know and where to get it done?
Thanks in advance!

I recently had some photos printed on aluminum (almost like a licence plate), and was very happy with the results. They have a mounting piece on the back that sets the photo about 1/2" out from the wall. No need to frame. I had mine done at An Image Evolution, on line. I know that's not quite what you're asking about, but the aluminum is really cool. And no need to frame it!
I love having mine printed on metal. The colors really pop and the effect is great on a wall. You might be talking about acrylic prints? Those are popular around here too, although I still prefer the prints on metal myself. (We use Magna Chrome for the metal prints and have always been really happy with the quality and service)
@featherstone@polarvrtx thanks for the idea. I've seen online (never in person) photos printed on metal and everyone that has done it has mentioned how much they like it. I should give it a try! Thanks.
@marcoh Thanks...I looked at forex and it seemed to say that it is a heavyweight paper used for drawing. I'll have to look again at another site. Thanks for the info. that does sound like it anyway.
Thanks in advance!
