Casio has a $250 point and shoot camera that'll shoot 1,000fps. (EX-FH100) The resolution at that speed is only 224 x 64, but you can still have some fun with it.

I can see DSLRs starting to go with high speed capture in a few years. Although you'll need some crazy fast cards to keep up with 2500 fps at full 1080p
