Worth sitting quietly and watching and listening to the experience of this incredibly good and lucky photographer. I want at the very least to carry his bag on his next job!!
Took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes - what an amazing photographer - what a mindblowing experience/s. Thanks for sharing. If you're going to carry his bag - can I come and carry yours?
@thebluegnu seriously how does anyone get to have this kind of experience? I would give anything for this kind of opportunity, as I say I'd carry his bag and for free!!!
OMG! Brought tears to my eyes. Just incredible. Here's a site with even more of his pics from this and his other work: http://humanplanet.com/timothyallen/
@michellegaynor It's amazing! it was posted here before, so I already knew it! But it's fascinating! Like all the places where he can get! That's amazing!
And the shots he's doing? Awwww! Dream of everyone!
@michellegaynor Not sure Michelle - but I think real unadulterated passion drives the extraordinary - and then on top of that he's (I'm guessing) made very different choices to mainstream society - probably doesn't have a mortgage, wife and kids. Probably only owns a backpack, 2 pairs of shoes and his camera equipment - which means, he can be as nomadic and as daredevilish as he wants - take up unusual positions in unusual places. Maybe he took a sabbatical from his normal photographic job and volunteered as an 'extra' - who knows? But he sure has some great pics and probably even greater stories. I'm always completely fascinated and drawn to those who go against the norm and make different lifestyle choices. Dream on! :)
@thebluegnu the link that Annie @annielf added has so much more information about this photographer and his work. He has a FAQ section and someone asked and you are right, although he did have a mortgage and job in journalism he sold everything, gave up the job and bought a ticket to India... no commitments you are right. Exciting existance.
@michellegaynor I've done a little mini-version of the same - After 20 years in my own business - sold it and ALL my stuff 2 years ago - now own a suitcase of clothes and a camera - I wander around the planet - not to such hectic places as he went to ... but remote, all the same.
Wow, I am speechless and have tears in my eyes after watching this! What an amazing experience and the photos are just stunning and create such a story of the lives of the people and countries he visited and had the pleasure of photographing! Thank you so much for sharing this link!!
Thank you for sharing! This is beautifully stunning! I can't help but feel lucky that I have the little pleasures of a house to keep me warm and to live in, food to eat, bed to sleep in........... Let us all be thankful! This also brought tears in my eyes. Such an amazing series.
Thank you so much for sharing this Michelle. I have shared the link on FB and twitter for my friends to see it too. It is possibly the most beautiful collection of photos I have ever seen.
