My latest issue of National Geographic came today and with it, a very interesting article on Camera Obscuras. Take a look here.

Oh wow, thats an interesting use of one.. We have a camera Obscura in Edinburgh, and its wonderful to go up there and see the city from high above.

Wow, that is awesome! I have been to a camera obscura - I was going to start a thread on here asking who else had, but I couldn't remember where I had been to one, because I was only 8 at the time. But since you have mentioned them, I had a think and it turns out the one I went to was on Lochmaddy in the Scottish Outer Hebrides. If you click here you can see a photo of it from the outside. (you have to scroll down a bit cause it tells you how to get there with photos and thing - I even remember crossing that crazy little old suspension bridge, which was far more rickety then than it looks in those photos)

It's really old and made of stones and things and the picture inside isn't half as clear as the Bravura Camera Obscura, because it is literally just a hut - you can't fit more than a couple of people inside it at a time, and the floor is just mud.. but the atmosphere is totally awesome. :)
