Life In A Day

November 3rd, 2011
I just saw this video on YouTube. Basically, people around the world participated in this video by filming just a day in their life.

"Life In A Day is a historic film capturing for future generations what it was like to be alive on the 24th of July, 2010."

Anyway, it made me think of how amazing life is and the world. I have been fortunate enough to have traveled to 23 countries. So, watching this video gave me such fond memories. But it also made me think about all of you; how we are recording 365 days of our lives through photography and we are also scattered all around the world. It is quite a beautiful thing if you think about it (well, at least to me).

But, I thought I would share the documentary link on here if anyone is interested in watching. Fore warning though, the video is over 1.5 hours and there is some things that may not be suitable for everybody (I even covered the screen with my hands at one point).

How funny - I watched that movie last weekend. It is indeed very touching but also sometimes disturbing and it did remind me of this project as well. I love how this project makes me feel like the whole world is connected, like we share similar fears, joys, problems and humours, no matter where we come from and how we grew up. It's a great feeling.

That was very moving. I want to say more, but I'm at a loss for words. Thank you for sharing.

@jannaellen --- Very true. What struck me early in this project were the seasons. At any given moment the world experiences every season. It was a strange realization for me even though I know this to be true.

This project has brought such an awareness of time to me. It always seems so strange how people in Australia have a photo of a day I haven't lived yet. This project has also made the world even smaller and I dream to travel it some day. Thanks for sharing the link

I've made some friends here on 365, and we've just started a unique little project. We're 7 people posting self portraits in the same project. It's fun. We are The Seven: http://365project.org/theseven/365/2011-11-03

@jannaellen I love how you described it. so very true for both the documentary and this project.

@herussell it was moving, wasn't it?

@dmortega isn't that crazy? I went 2 years without experiencing summer just because of where I was at any given time during the course of 2 years. This was my first summer (that just passed) in 2 years and it sure was hot for me.

@cfitzgerald you should totally travel. I just read a blog (after watching the documentary) about traveling. It was so good and so true. ( http://goinswriter.com/travel-young/)

@sweett I have been following. Such a good idea.
