This is my very first HDR photo and I am pretty proud about it :P
However, I am aware that there is always room for improvement. I tried to light it up a little bit, but it just looked weird.
You should really check out this page

The tutorial is great and the creator is pretty good at explaining the process.
a very good first attempt, I admit that I am a bit of an HDR junkie :) I have found that to get the best HDR pics you need a subject that has a high contrast between highlight and shadows so you may find a scene that is evenly lit does not work as well as one that has dark shadows and bright highlights, heres a couple of mine
@asrai I also read about that in the tutorial.
"Consider those situations where there is extreme light and extreme dark, and how you are able to see it when you are there in real life, but you just know if you take a photo of it that it won’t come out right."
@jannaellen I used a portable version of Photomatix and then correct some things I didn't like with Photoshop. I did try to light up that tree, but it just didn't was to be lighted up haha
here's one from last night and one from earlier in the year. For me it's about getting the light right in the starting shots - this helps reduce halos and funny shadows...
cool for first attempt, processing in Photomatix is the first step in HDR, you need to process them in photoshop or elements to attain more natural or artistic look.
i love doing HDR, most of my landscapes are processed in HDR!

The 2 pictures on the right hand side of the collage were HDR and were taken at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios.

Thanks to all of your advise and examples of HDR photos, I tried it again :)
