I'm want to upgrade my camera to the above, I appreciate it's a bridge camera, and not full SLR, but my research suggests that this will create a high standard of photograph.
So before I outlay a reasonable sum of hard earned cash, I would appreciate the thoughts (pro's & con's) of fellow 365'ers.
This is in the same price range as an entry-level DSLR, why buy something with a fixed lens? Although the zoom on this is outlandish on the telephoto end (equal to 720mm!!!), it lacks on the wide end (only 24mm equivalent). Also, there are ALWAYS going to be optical engineering compromises in super zooms, and this is the biggest zoom range I have ever seen. I'd imagine the sharpness could be an issue...
If you buy an interchangeable lens camera, you're buying into a camera SYSTEM, not just one camera. I'd keep that in mind, since it gives you more room to grow over time...
check out the Fuji Camera fanpage at Facebook...a couple members have been posting pics from this camera and they are absolutly amazing! (even at the FULL zoom)
Hi thanks for the constructive comments, I shall take on board your view Reid, and it has been something I've been wrangling over, And Becky I will be checking out the facebook asap
I use a Fujifilm finepix bridge camera at work, and I have to say I'm disappointed with it. If you can purchase a D-SLR, do it; you'll only end up buying one anyway. I even prefer my Canon S90 compact to the Finepix.
I use a fuji finepix and love it! The zoom is also great but I am wary of the engineering problems as a couple of times the zoom lenses have acted a bit dodgy ( cant explain but at the time thought my camera had broken)

Thanks once again
