This one has a big fav to comment to view ratio, its defiantely done the best of my shots so far, id love to know the actual formula for making the page.

Kylie interesting thread. PP is probably the most annoying aspect of 365 because for what ever reason (I know about the formula) great pics often don't make it. I've actually had a pic that made the Top 20 List that never made the PP. Go figure! But great thread because I'm seeing some awesome photos here that I hadn't before.
I have to admit I watched the PP page intently when I first started but I haven't looked at it very often lately so I wouldn't know if one of my shots made it. But this one surprised me with the attention it received, so even though it didn't make PP I am happy with the response.
Oh, I would not deem this public show off worthy, but I am proud of my first baby crown and macro water drop in action. All made simple by a my awesome yet, low grade speedlight
these photos are all amazing. I don't know what the 'formula' is... but I have never made the PP. I used to let it bother me.... but I just appreciate everyone's comments now.... screw the PP.... LOL
This is very interesting. I thought that it was based, somewhat loosely perhaps, on the number of Favs a photo gets and maybe the number of comments factored in for good measure. But this makes me realize that the Magic Monkeys have more say in this than I imagined. Not a bad thing, in my opinion.
@meisen325 I think the ratio plays into it. If it gets a lot of comments and favs very soon after it's posted, it has a better chance then if it gets comments and favs over a long period of time.....but what do I really know? Until someone gets a peek behind the curtains, we won't know. And I don't really mind. The community and relationships on here are way more important to me than the PP. Now the Top 20 on the other hand.......still trying.
I was sooooo happy to get this shot! I had not been able to photograph birds in focus, especially birds flying. A giant flock of seagulls in a Walmart parking lot, that refused to leave, even when cars came at them, etc... They helped me learn how to get the flight shots. It was the most fun I've had since starting in June. On my larger monitor at home and on my IPAD2, it is so sharp and those eyes! But it doesn't look as good on the site/some monitors I've noticed. Maybe better viewed magnified.
@shadesofgrey I know, but I only got two favs so I wonder what my followers thought. I really like how I managed to put six months of crap shoot editing lessons together into something I would frame. Ah, but at least you liked it and can see that I really did appreciate and value all your suggestions and advice.
@shadesofgrey I think you might be correct in that a photo tends to go "stale" if it hasn't picked up steam from the get go. So the top 20 is the golden fleece, huh? Good luck there, I don't stand a chance.
