There have been a lot of discussion on where to buy orbs, so I rushed out after hearing glowing reports about Sunrise imports and paid a fair bit for a decent size orb. Well 3 week on they tell me they forgot to process my order then finally today it arrives. Firstly it had none of the extras they said they would post because they forgot about my order and secondly my 1 large orb is actually 36 small ones >.< ...... What in the world am I going to do with them?
what gets me is 36??
While we are here why not show me your crystal balls :D
Yikes, that's intense. I think you should try to get a picture of all of them reflecting something large, graphic, and easily recognizable. Not sure how you'd attempt to focus there though ...
I was happy to just get my one a few weeks ago. It's the 80 mm size. How small are your small ones?
I bought mine while on a trip to York, paid £18.00 for it. I really want to do a sunset (won't be long now) but here is a shot i did a couple od weeks ago to try it out.
@tracywilliams Thanks, Tracy! I've found the best subjects are converging lines - bridges, railroad tracks, streets....good luck and do something amazing with your misfortunately shipped order! :)
These are wonderful. I've had great fun with a clear but patterned paperweight and at Christmas I thoroughly enjoyed myself with a little marble...(not the sort of thing you say every day...!)
Here's the marble
And the paperweight..
@jtrudell Not sunshine imports LOL.... sorry I can't help out there. @dkg beautiful work, I like the second shot it's very dreamy :) @lisjam1 great work! I like the patterns well done. @lorraineb LOL Lorraine you just crack me up! @filsie65 I am totally amazed by that marble :) your paper weight shot is very pretty too.
@tracywilliams oh my gosh! Those are 35 of the balls in the background?? Stunning! Did you decide if you are giving them all a home, or are you sending them back for the larger one? I say keep 'em. One in the car, one in your purse, one at work ....... you can start a new 'macro' ball trend :)
Haha, I just caught on to this (busy weekend), I saw your pic as a thumbnail and thought, 'cool, she bought a bunch of them'.
I only have one ($28) I used it today. I find it a little too big and heavy and want to get a small one too.
