New Picasa

April 13th, 2012
I don't know if anyone has put a topic out about this before but has anyone downloaded the lastest Picasa from Google & tried it out?

I updated mine this morning & WOW it has some amazing new effects on it, it's much more like Picnik which I know a lot of people loved & is well worth checking out!

oooo maybe i'll give it a try. i've always been impressed with how clean and easy Picasa is to use, but having adobe lightroom, i rarely see the need to use picasa as an editor.

you don't work for google do you? :P

@scatochef LOL! No Jie Zhou, I use Picasa mostly as a photo viewer but it is a brilliant little program :)

Sarah, I've had Picassa for ages and it automaticaaly updated itself recently. It is so easy to use and even though I have other editing software I often only use Picassa!

How do you download it if it isn't already installed on your computer?
April 13th, 2012
@hasselhotch just google Picasa & the download site comes up, make sure you download v3.9 then you get all the new bits :)

@sjodell Cool thank you I'll give that a whirl

Careful Picasa tends to take over your photo organisation...which is OK if that's what you want...and a pain in the but if you didný want it.

Be very careful. I myself use Picassa on occassion, but I don't like how it tries to manage all of my photos, and especially how it tries to compress them all for me. I never have it open long enough to figure out how to make it stop, because once it starts reading all your photos on your computer, there's no way to make it stop unless you shut 'er down. @swilde Oh just saw what you wrote...yes, it's almost like a virus...LOL

I stopped using the Picasa on the computer because of the irritating photo organization. I do use the Picasa Web Albums though to upload all my "best" photos because I like the format for viewing them online.

What the three above me said. ^^^

as long as they are organised in your files it doesn't change that structure, its just a pain in the bum to find what you want when it imports them all
April 13th, 2012
Guess I'll stick with iPhoto and Adobe Elements
April 13th, 2012
Picasa supports color management or not?
April 14th, 2012
I like the organisation, that's largely why i use it :')
April 14th, 2012
I think picassa doesn't really change your file locations etc it just adds all your photo's into its viewing system so you can find photo's....you can undo any edit you did in picassa i.e crops etc

@salza Hello Sally i know this may sound daft i too have Picasa now could you please instruct me on how to upload a pic to 365 from picasa thank you Gerry.
September 18th, 2013
@gerry Sorry to get back to you so late Gerry. I'm not really too sure what it is you are wanting to know. What I do is once I've processed my picture I save it to a file on my computer. Then with 365 open, click on upload, click on browse find the picture I want to upload and then follow the 365 directives. I hope this answers your query.
