Is there a way to stop an inactive account following you?

...Not in a nasty way.
It's just that i've got 300 followers but probably the majority are no longer active, so I'd like to remove them from my followers list to give a more accurate picture of my active followers.

Don't think there is, but know Ross deletes a/c's fairly often as my followers count has been steadily falling of late..

Either that or people are fed up of my shots lol

Likewise I've noticed you can't remove someone you're following from your list if they've had their account deleted , clicking remove shows "invalid user" and can't find them to remove them. So also not very accurate

Ah, so it is worth going through the ones you follow every now and then and maybe weeding out the ones that don't seem active. I have done that once or twice, but didn't know whether I was wasting my time.

I've just started triming my follower list this morning. As I went through it I notice quite a few names I hardly even recognized. Upon further inspection I found these people bailed out of the project early on and hadn't posted a new photo since Febuary. Glad I deleted them before their accounts got deleted.

Now I'm looking at a few names who NEVER bother to comment on my photos or even say boo to me for always commenting on their's. They are on my endangered species list as well. The snobs (lol).

I did some weeding last night too! And then made it a point to find at least one thing I liked about at least one photo of each of the remaining people on my list and comment.
@cromwell Have you unfollowed me? Is that why I haven't got a response to my lion picture that I uploaded only for you? Well... umm... this isn't awkward at all... :P

yeah i weed out the inactive ones i follow every few months, but all inactive accounts do get removed periodically, so your followers will drop off if they are truly inactive @andrewdearling

i was thinking there used to be a page on another site someone had setup but i can not remember what it is. maybe might jog someones memory? i will see if i can dig thru and find it but its a longshot (bit spacy lately lol)

Here's a link to a zombie finder...finds all the inactive people. You can delete the people you follow, but not your followers.

I would be against such a feature, myself. I would much prefer just leaving all the inactives following me, as that would make me look more popular.

I have a follower that never posts and has no followers. He says he follows 4 and he has 3 favs, Kinda strange!
