I often find myself reading/viewing every entry in a discussion thread - which can mean having traveled down, down, and down into the guts of a 365 thread. Do any of the rest of you wish for some magic HTML code to give us some kind of "jump back to the top of the thread" button? Maybe if enough of us comment, Ross @rossscrivener will be able to make it happen?! (did I add Ross's tag correctly?)
That would come in handy. Especially when responding to 30 people who commented on my photo. Its a real drag having to constanly scroll up and down, up and down. I wish there were a check box where I could check each name I wanted to thank or better yet a "Respond to All" box to click.
You can press the "Home" button on your keyboard to take you to the top of the page, or "End" to take you to the bottom. Not quite as convenient as a button though :)
@38mm@iqscotland@bobfoto thanks all for your suggestions, which are all great tips - what I should have included from the outset is how much this would be welcome on an iPad - where I can't find or don't know about - a return to top shortcut! Any ideas there?
@lyno - I have checked out this site on a iPad and yeah, I can see how a button would come in handy there. Be nice if it were a floating button that would travel alongside where you were on the page.
I have noted that an iPad and this site, well my internet connection cannot keep up, if I do a big two finger scroll down the page. Or how many fingers you are meant to use?
@bobfoto That's where I meet up with the problem. . .scrolling back up or down is pretty miserable. . .and I do love to use the iPad sometimes for the site - sometimes I just can't bear to sit in a computer chair for ONE more second! I've tried every scroll way imaginable and most often it just takes a jerky several entries at a time sort of approach!
@lyno have you been able to use the shortcut? Sometimes i have to touch the black area more than once but i do like it. MUch better than trying to fast scroll back up a long page.
@sianipops Yes, and I can't thank you enough for the hint - it works beautifully and has saved me scads of scrolling aggravation! I'm going to make sure any others here know to try this as well! Thanks again, Nia!
@bobfoto Did you see Nia's post above? @sianipops This is a miracle for the iPad user who didn't know about it! Just touch that tiny black bar at the very top of the display - works like a charm!
