Photo Editing A Photo That's Been Posted To My Site

May 19th, 2012
I'm new at this and should have edited a photo before I uploaded it. How do you change one picture for the other, since comments have been made about it, it's been viewed and you want your followers to know that its now a better picture?

You can edit the photo on your computer and then upload it again, but I think you will loose all counters and comments. The new version overwrites the old, so to speak.

One way of keeping comments, at least, is to copy them out before you upload the new version, and then pasting them into a new comment, together.

You can only delete a photo including it's comments. When you have a paid account (ace) you can upload more photos to overcome this problem. Just post a new pic and in both copy and paste the URL (web adress) as a cross reference.

When you're ACE member you can also load your photo and edit in picmonkey without losing comments.

if you want to keep the comments there is a way..
before you delete the photo copy and paste the comments into a word doc.. edit your photo and re load it here, and then paste the comments back into the comments below.. I have done this before.. and it worked..

@asrai I guess I had better read all the rules, as I didn't know you needed a paid account to delete any photo's?

@lynnb I'm going to do my reading about 365 and see all my options. Thanks for your help.

@granny7 thats what I was saying you dont

@bankmann First of all, do you have to have a paid account to do this? Then if you copy and paste onto a word document, will they appear just as they did before and can your followers still be able to see my pictures and will everything be automatically clickable? This is getting very confusing, but it is my fault for not editing them better in the first place. Thank you for responding, everyone on here is so helpful.

@nikkers Thanks, so it worked for you and are you a paid member? I'll have to check and see what it cost.

@asrai Ofcourse you can delete, but the problem @granny7 had, was that there have been made comments already. So the advantage of ace is the ability to post more shot a day.

@granny7 . I am an Ace member, but did that before I became one... if you save the comments you can then paste them back into the comment box,, but you will have to save them in a word doc or somewhere else ... it wont look the same as the normal comments look.. and it will have your @granny on the top.. but you will at least have the comments .

@lynnb How do you edit in picmonkey without deleting and reposting? That is awesome. I just did a delete repost this morning and I would rather not.

@lynnb Never mind. Just found it. Thanks for the heads up.

@granny7 As @nikkers says; you can copy out and paste back, but you will loose the clickable links.

As @edie and other suggest, an Ace membership will give you the online graphics editor, and that might help you. I'm not an Ace member yet; I've decided to hold off for my second year, if I last. ;-p That's my intention, anyway... (I might change my mind about Ace, but thats for later...)

don't pay for membership. you seem to have enough technical options to confuse you now, paying for membership gives you more things to think about. Just delete the pic if it isn't what you wanted, and upload a new pic, you'll get new comments. You can delete on the screen when you click EDIT, if you ever want to just change what you have written about a picture you can do this without losing the comments.
