I canPt wait to do my first collage!! I have always wanted to do one on Piknic and never got around to it ! I also have Photoshop Elements and never used that one either! I dont do much editing so i like picmonkey for crop and a simple tweek but i like how easy it is to use and i see a collage in my near future!! maybe a Baby Squirell Collage since i have about 1000 pics of them!! he he he!
Kewl! I have to say I'm loving picmonkey too, just use it for a final little tweak after I do PSE 10. And agreed on the humour, gives me a little smile.
The problem is that they have merely repeated what so many other programs offer - rows of ready-made boxes which have to be used as THEY say, not as the photographer would wish. True they allow some modification of size, shape of corners, and background colour, but the change applies to ALL photos in the collage, and there is no facility for individual editing or rotating or overlapping, etc., adding text in any combination of size or font or angle or colour, which Picasa allows freely with no constraints or restrictions.
The collages posted here are excellent examples of the very limited choices, but you're still stuck with the same set of designs. (And of course you could replicate these designs very easily in Picasa if you wish, any time you like).
Sorry, Picmonkey, I love and trust most of your features, but in my view your collage attempt falls far short of what is needed, so I do all of my processing in your package and then move over to the excellent Picasa to make a real collage. It's so easy to switch between the programs to get the best of both worlds, and you do have a lot of 'bests'.
Here's one I did today with Picasa. It's versatile, easy to use, and FREE and I can't imagine producing anything similar with PicMonkey or iPiccy, but perhaps because I prefer the look of a journalistic style than a postcard album ... It's a matter of personal choice, but I feel it is a good thing to share ideas and discoveries.
I am a crazy-mad editor and process photos to within an inch of their lives!
