I just found this blog while I was doing a search for light tents/boxes. I am not sure if this has ever been posted here before. If so sorry. I thought it was a good cheap way to get a light box :)
@sjoblues Yep that is cute. I am just rounding up my supplies now and will have a go at making one... or get hubby to do it while I go out for coffee with the girls. I emailed him the link :)
@k1w1 This has been on my list of things to do for AGES but I've never done it. Almost bought one for $150 (tent with 2 lights), but why buy it if you can make it for next to nothing! Let us know how you make out and what you used.
@httpgeffed Welcome Colleen :) I've rounded almost everything up, cut out my box, found the lights I'm going to use and now am going to run some errands and hopefully play with my new light box tonight and tomorrow :) Have fun with your project :)
My husband made me one a few weeks ago and i use it all the time - its great - we just got some voile curtain material for very little money and a couple of cheap lamps and it works really well
So I made my light box. I had to spend 75 cents :( Sticky tape is expensive. Everything else was hanging out around the house. I used the outdoor Christmas spot lights for the lighting. I wanted to borrow...on a forever basis... hubby's desk lamp but he suddenly forgot how to smile. He seems to think he needs it to sit at his desk and read and write. He didnt see the importance of good lighting for taking photos :) I think I'll spring for a couple of desk lamps so I can just keep my expensive light box all set up.
@mortisa
Here is the first image I took with my light box. I've not taken a photo of just the fancy light box... will get some proper lights for it before I do that :)
I wanted to do some work with DOF and just try out various settings on my camera so was just playing around :) I think I need to sprig for a macro lens for the D7000 but will try some macro shots with the AW100 and the light box first :)

Thanks. I took this image with the light box but this time I was trying to create a "perfect" shadow.
I moved the lights around and used a vingette lens.... didnt work :( Oh well it was fun trying. I'll eat the dessert and feel better I'm sure :)
