Paid membership

May 27th, 2012
Its fathers day soon and it is my birthday too at the end of the month so I have asked Diane for a paid membership to one of the photography sites.

I am on here, Jux, photobucket and Flickr. It boils down to two choices really its Flickr or here on the 365 project. I am very much decided but I was wondering who would you give your money too and why?

Neither..... Up the ante and get a KelbyTraining.com subscription..... By far much better value....

Ipay for my membership here even though I've never started a third album and rarely use my second one...I just feel that I should support the site where I spend every available minute and I really appreciate Ross's efforts.

@swilde I agree with Sue. The cost is minimal and we get so much from this site that we need to applaud all Ross's efforts. I am a little confused that I don't appear to have paid for a second year but still have all my albums showing. Maybe Ross could let me know if I owe him money ;o) @Scrivna

I'm paying here and I don't even come here any more. It's more about wanting to help keep the thing going, than getting anything extra out of it.

I have paid for pro here, I love it glad I did ;)
Last week I paid for pro flickr and well lets just say I am not pleased. It's probably because I don't really know what I am doing there.

I just purchased a membership here. It is the first "social media" site I really "get". So many amazing shot so much to learn. I pay for my Flickr account too but that feels more about me. This feels more about us. Make sense?

I have paid accounts for both here and flickr and I get different things from both but I couldn't choose between one or the other. With here it is nice to support Ross and all the hard work he does and is such a great bargain price. But then I like having flickr (and have done for many many years) as a back up to my photos. Could you not afford both?

I wouldn't give money to anywhere else!! I get so much from this site for just £20 a year (less in fact, it's $20) it's the best hobby / friendliest community / best present I have bought myself all year.
I have to say, BTW, I don't do the others or even FB, so am not the best to really compare them, just wanted to say it's brilliant and I am very happy! :)

From the 2 then Flickr without a doubt. Being able to join groups for particular types of photography allows you to connect much more easily with people whose style / genre of photography you like, or for models of cameras you shoot on.

Also, and more importantly, the image quality on Flickr pisses all over what you get on here.

Wherever you spend the most time is one thought.
Whichever has the smaller user base and needs the help more, is another.
I am on photobucket and here. Rupert Murdoch does not need my help so I pay here.

I'm thinking about buying an ace membership, too.
I've got a question: Can I move a picture from one album to another?
Thank you :)

@tandem02 Yes - if there is a space in the other album :)
May 27th, 2012
@boogie thank you :) I asked because I added many pictures at the space "before" the start of my project and would like to move these to another album :)
May 27th, 2012
Would be great if an ace membership would bring more views :D
I'm a bit sad because I only get 30 views/picture :(
May 27th, 2012
@tandem02 Hello! Yes as Mags says, you can move it to any other blank date. With a bit of nifty shuffling you can put them wherever you like, moving them in-between albums or in the same one as many times as you like. It takes the comments with it as long as you don't delete and re-load. :)
May 27th, 2012
@filsie65 Thank you. I'm busy moving my pictures back and forth my album, because I have more than one picture per day :)

I totally agree with most of the above, for the sake of less than £20 I pay for membership. Its a small price to pay if it helps to keep this site running. I have gained so much from it. I used flickr too, but I'm only just finding my way around it, I didn't even know there was a paid membership! ; )

Don't know if I should upgrade my accound :/
May 27th, 2012
@agima That looks the business but I don't think my other half will be best pleased with that pricing!

@swilde That is highly commendable, a great ethic. One I wish I could afford.

@38mm That is where my other halfs money is going! I think for the back up of original files alone it has to be worth it and the fact you don't have to re-subscribe and they will store them means once you want them back you just have to pay the pretty reasonable subscription and they will still be there.

@lilbudhha I had no idea that was affiliated with him, I only use that place for ebay albums, they have the html code so you get around the ebay fees for extra pictures. Thanks Rupert!

I'm sure there's a place where I can find the answer to my question. Maybe someone can direct me to it. I just finished my first year. I started June 26th, 2011. A few months later, I upgraded and started two other albums. So now, what happens? I understand how to move the picture to a new album but can I keep adding to my 365, even though it's "full"? Am I now on a second 365 album? And when I renew my paid membership, does that open up a year more of each album?
I guess I can't quite visualize the amount of "space" I have left.
@swilde
You have been a very supportive follower and I really appreciate it. Can you show me where to look?
Thanks!
June 29th, 2012
@pamelaf It's not a problem...Your albums will keep going at the moment... until you run out of your paid membership...when you renew they will indeed just keep going... When you get near the end of your album "time"you should receive an email from Ross inviting you to renew for another year. You can then decide whether you want to renew or not.
