Im very new to this, i was doing a daily photo on my facebook page for a while but it got boring as i felt i was taking the same photos over and over again, until i came across this from a friend.
Im now hoping to get some ideas and learn to use my camera correctly and get some great photos (i think i take great photos just from changing the camera i was using lol).
Im doing my first photo up tonight i took it on my webcam though as i dont have a tripod yet.
So if you can give me a place to get ideas on what to take photos of...that would be awesome save me taking the same photos over and over again as that will just get me bored once again :(
Hi Sharlene and welcome to 365! Look forward to seeing what you share with us. I started this year with no knowledge, no time and a point and shoot camera! There's so much support and help on here. So much you can learn. If you want to know anything about anything just search threads and you'll find a wealth of comments and info. You can do wonders with any camera once you work out its capabilities and get a few ideas. You need go no further than here for ideas on what to take photos of, inside and out. Use the browse feature to find shots just uploaded, shots by newcomers and shots by the talented among us!
Good luck!
Hi Alicia..thanks very much for that...i look forward to working everything out and seeing what others have done...i got a new camera for mothers day i was excited, got everything the way i liked it then the hubby goes and plays with it and changes my settings for the life of me i cant work out what he has done :( lucky enough i can still shoot my photos BUT the flash keeps popping up when i dont want it too...i will have to sort that out
Hi Sharlene..welcome to 365! If you have a DSLR you have to take it off auto and preset settings..close up, action, etc. on these the camera will decide if you need flash. Try Program or one of your priority settings and you can turn the flash on and off. Hope this helps!
yea i gotta find the take it off auto part lol i had it on so that it would pop up only if needed now it does it for every darn photo...and yup its a DSLR. thanks will just keep playign and hopefully will find it :)
@kiwigirl04 Hello there and welcome to 365! I have found that following a variety of people around the world gives me new inspirations and ideas every day. Ok I can't take a shot of the setting sun across the ocean when I live in middle England, or manage a shot of a kookaburra but it's still inspired me to see the world and nature around me with new eyes. Sometimes I join in with the themes and challenges on the home page for new ideas. Your project - your ideas - your camera - Enjoy!
@kiwigirl04 Hi Sharlene. Welcome to 365. I joined for the same reason you did. It's the perfect place to learn. Just follow some people, look through the posts each day and get ideas of what to photograph. Post images in the critique discussions to get suggestions on improving shots etc. Just get out there. If it catches your eye then it's probably worthy of a photograph :)
Welcome - I suggest ace membership (It is very reasonably priced) so that you can pursue your interests and take up some of the challenges, which are a great way to get variety and ideas.
You'll find much better comments than FB as all here are photo-obsessed!
Hi, Sharlene and welcome to 365, where you will most definitely find that it's possible to learn by leaps and bounds! Another suggestion I would have is to go to the BROWSE tab at the top menu of the site and choose from some of these places to look: >Latest, >Popular, >by Day, >by Tag, etc. But as so many have mentioned, this project should be FOR you and about the memories of your life that you want to collect! Good luck. . .
@lyno thanks, i did find those tabs last night and had a look though there are some amazing photos around on this site thats for sure...cant wait to get my creative juices flowing :)
Good luck!
