picMonkey question

Help!
All of a sudden PicMonkey is only saving *.png files. The little drop-down menu is not accessible to change. I don't know what a *.png file is, but I know I cannot open it up in photoshop to make more corrections. I can't figure out what I did to make it save files like this. I checked the settings, and I don't see any other options to change it back to *.jpg files.

Ok....I went back several times, and this last time, it has switched back to *.jpg files. Weird!

That happened to me the other day, not sure why... all good now :)

Thanks Monika!

But, ok, this is strange. I've done several now with no problem. But I keep going back to the original photo it did this to, and it keeps trying to save it as a *.png! I'm getting tired of this!!

Well, after extensive research, it appears to be a filesize issue. I am always stuck with png when the file is over 2.9 Mb (their size measurement, not mine - my Explorer frequently says they are less). If the file is under 2.9 Mb - I am allowed a jpg or png option on the drop down.

Maybe this holds true for you too.

@monika64 @ellida

Thanks for replying!

Graham - I think you may be right - and also right about it being their measurement. The ones that saved as png's are over that size, but oddly, the original JPGs are significantly smaller!

I will try to reduce the size of the file before uploading to it... Thanks again!
