Pentax K1000

June 27th, 2012
Recently received this film camera as a gift. It has has four lenses. 22-135mm, 60-300mm, 50mm 1.2 macro and 28mm. Can I make use of these lenses with my Canon T2i or T1i with an adapter? I tried to "google" it but I haven't found much information. You guys are mostly clever. Got any ideas? Or is the camera junk?

Haha, why use them on your T2i when it sounds like you have a perfectly good SLR right there! The K1000 is an excellent camera!

Here are a couple I took recently with mine:

Thank you Aaron! I already have a film SLR. Canon. It's so good to know I can use the lenses! With practice. I appreciate your response. :)

That 50/1.2 sounds fun :)

@grizzlysghost I agree! Film is fun! Sometimes I think of giving up digital altogether...

I have a K1000 too - I love it! These are a few of the pictures I've taken with it, which I've used for my 365 project:

My first "real good" camera was a Pentax K1000. It was a workhorse and I learned so much using it. The uh, third time I dropped it, it was unrepairable. I had to move on to something different.

That was my very first SLR. Sometimes I still miss it. Small, light, easy to handle. But digital took over.

@mandyj92

I have the pentax adaptor with my Canon DSLR. It cost me £9.99 off ebay, the home of film to DSLR adaptors, you can get adaptors for all lenses.
The pentax lenses are okay, just be aware that the fit isn't always super tight, it is massively hard to focus, and focus and apeture will always be manual.

@chewyteeth Thank you Dave! It may be fun to toy with. I'm not sure what I'll do with it.

it will be, but after a couple of months you might be missing the AF lenses
