Has anyone else noticed that regardless of views/favs/comments, etc, no pictures uploaded for the past 3 weeks (maybe longer) are ending up in our top rated photos in our account stats? Every now and then I check to see what position Dizzy will end up in and its not there at all, but should definitely fall somewhere in the top 5 I would think.
@nikkic however many weeks its been since there has been a Top 20 seems to also be the same timeframe in which photos uploaded have not shown up in my top rated. It just seems odd that one of my photos with that dwarfs many of my shots in my current top 10 in all measurements (views, comments and favs) isn't there. It was uploaded June 23. And it made PP faster than any shot I've ever uploaded, so the fact its missing from my own top 10 is bizarre.
@tracywilliams My top 10 shows up.... but its leaving me scratching my head, since Dizzy is not in my top 10 and was the photo that got to PP faster than any shot of mine before, has 262 views, 31 favs, and 91 comments. That should put it at least smack dab in the middle of my top 10. I just don't get it.
Mine is leaping about... yesterday the infernal carrot shot made it into my top ten, this morning it's gone. Can't make sense of how it's organised any week - someone suggested it's altered by how many followers you get at the time of the shot too. (Which would explain why an early shot that hit the PP is high up there with fewer views etc than others lower down). Heigh ho - it's just nice to see some old shots. :)
@filsie65 if that was the case, the shot missing from my top 10 (and hasn't cracked it at all) should be high up on the list... I got a lot of new followers over the shot, it reached PP faster than any shot previously, etc. I think I'm just going to make my own top 10 and do a collage every month of the 10 shots that I feel were the best received. the algorithm is apparently on crack.
@jsw0109 I think you're right... I gave up trying to work it out a while ago - I don't know what the monkeys are on but it seems to keep them happy. The carrots have leapt back in to no7. When I've had a couple of glasses of wine I may try to figure it out. Then again I may decide to do something even more entertaining than maths! =)
@jsw0109 On a related note, I had a photo rank in my top 10 this week, and then it disappeared altogether, even though it easily surpasses the numbers of the photos that are ranked 5-10, and even though it did so quickly. Best to keep your own stats if it matters, I guess! :)
I have only recently joined and I don't understand my ranking at all in my top rated - does anyone know the algorithm used, because photo's of mine with more comments and views end up lower down the list than ones with less. I don't get it??
