@kaylee Try Camden Lock, London St Pancras Station, Greenwich (all of it), the Thames Barrier, the Woolwich Ferry, Borough Market (near London Bridge station), Southwark Cathedral (also near London Bridge Station), Covent Garden (near Charing Cross), The Temple area (along the Thames by Charing Cross), Fitzroy Square (near Warren Street tube), St Bride's Church (Fleet Street), Battersea Power Station, Southbank Centre (near to Waterloo). Hope this helps!
@peadar Yes, born in Marion Road Charlton, then moved to Charlton Lane, then near the Standard, and on to Shooters Hill. I'd spend most Saturdays as a young teenager riding the Woolwich ferry and going to the park North Woolwich side. Where are you from? : )
@lorraineb Wow! Bought up in Eltham, worked in Greenwich, now in Blackheath. Spent time in my youth visiting the pub by the Blackwall Tunnel that did Jazz music on Sundays.
@peadar Crikey!! I went to Blackheath Bluecoats (in the good days) I left there in 1984 (6th form). I spent my youth in Blackheath Village, and Greenwich market. : )
My fav place is along the South Bank of the River Thames from The London Eye all the way down to Tower Bridge, just look around you and see the famous London skyline - there is just so much to see. Remember to capture the brand new Shard building.....and anywhere where people are....
@megsy@brumbe cheers guys, have to agree with Megsy and @dishaparekh176 , anywhere is a good spot for a photo opp in London! Megsy, I'm meeting with Andy C in CG this Thursday, did leave a message on one of your pics in case you fancied joining us
@rich57 we should post Drury Lane photos this week. I think he flew out from Bangalore sometime yesterday midday my time. I would email him too. It would be awesome if you two meet up @gurry
Megays @megsy said -- "London has 100's of places to take photographs, there is an opportunity around every corner - literally. Go and have fun :-) "
I've always believed this is true no matter WHERE you live. There are intersting things to shoot all around...everywhere. People sometimes leave a comment for me saying "You are so lucky to live where you live because there's so much going on!" I'm like, it's not happening on my doorstep, I go out and look for interesting things to photograph. If I lived on a farm in Iowa, I'd still go out and find interesting things to shoot. So, what I'm saying is, it isn't the location that makes a photographer better, it's the effort the photographer puts into his shots that makes a photographer better.
@cromwell thankyou i like what you have just said, i must try harder with getting out and taking photo!!! every one else thanks for your input... im off to london tomorrow so will be uploading sum of the captures tomorrow :)
@cromwell - totally agree Cromwell, everything is worth a picture - its how the photographer deals with the shot, processes the shot and how they want the shot to be perceived.
@kaylee - have fun in London - enjoy every minute :-)
@rich57 - text me when you are in CG and where and I will meet up with you if I can. Thursday is my first day back at work after being at Uni for three days but saying that I will be dying to get out with my camera on the streets by then after three days of lectures from hell - lol. (07702 010836).
I was in London last September for a couple of days and there were different tours - I went on the Harry Potter Tour although there are other ones as well.
@lorraineb Lorraine, my Dad used to say "Crikey", God Bless him, so that comment made me laugh and also remember him! You were lucky, then, growing up around Blackheath and Greenwich. Happy days!
