Im on my iPhone as I am away on vacation and tonight everything is wonky... A lot of people's thumbnail are jumbled and some people's thumbnails are showing up in my stream as photos, instead of the correct photos... It's really really weird... Any idea what might be causing this? Tx for any help you can offer!
I'm constantly on my iphone and this has never happened, so sorry I can't be useful here. Maybe a connection glitch that will sort itself out. Have you tried turning it off and re-starting it?
I've no idea, but I will say my e-mail is running 15-20 minutes behind the posts from many sites. So maybe it is an actual Internet thing. Or a full moon. Or the Zombie appocolypse and I just don't know it!
This happens on my iPad somewhat frequently ... Like a distortion in the space-time continuum (did I say that?). It's always fine on the laptop and the desktop (both Apple) ... If you click on the photo (even if it looks like someone's profile pic), it will show up right. Enjoy! :)
Tx guys... The zombie apocalypse or a rip in the space time continuum work for me (beach - you did indeed write that and I am impressed ;p)
Yes - when I click it does take me to the right place - but the thumbnail still looks wrong... So person A has person B's thumbnail picture... At first I thought it was a practical joke, and then I decided I'd been zapped into the twilight zone... Likely it will have righted itself by tomorrow
@brumbe Hmmm... That sounds even more frustrating than my situation (which is just bizarre - but not preventing me from doing anything)... I've only emailed in a photo twice... The first time I had problems (possibly the file was too big) but the second time (this past week) worked fine... Hope you can get your situation sorted ASAP!
@brumbe I have trouble emailing if I send to two places. I have a photoblog that I post iphone photos too from pre-365. If I put that address in first the photo won't email to 365, but if I put the 365 address in first it's fine. Either way round it sends perfectly well to the posterous blog. Odd.
@northy@carolinedreams and it is from my picasa that is set up to gmail on my laptop. I could understand if it was the iphone, but it is the real computer.
I'll be a butt and ask the obvious, have you tried turning it off and back on again? Sometimes I get that with text messages... quite a few laughs with that. The other thing is check how many applications you have running, sometimes killing those helps...
@binny You mean it is possible to turn an iPhone OFF????? ;p
Ok - good point... I will give that a try... On your other comment, this is something I'm just not sure about... How do I know what's in the background? I know when iTunes is... But anything else - feels like a guessing game...
There should be a downloadable app that allows you to see what's all running and check what you want to shut off, probably look under "kill app", sort of like the msconfig for cell phones
@northy You can double click the home button and all the open apps appear. Then press one and hold it down and they will start to shake. Close by tapping the exes. To turn the phone off hold the top button down for a long time. You'll know when it's off.
@binny On an iPad you double-click the home button and all active apps are shown at the bottom of the screen. Press and hold one app until they all start to wiggle. Turn them off one by one. An iPhone will work the same way. When anything slows down or acts funny turn off all active apps and restart.
Well... Who knew? Looks like I've never closed an app! I just assumed that pressing the button at the bottom to get back to home screen automatically shut down an app... Silly me :)
@northy I was making a reference (albeit obscure) to a conversation we had somewhere, way back, about waiting for the iphone 5 and how I have a droid and you couldn't wait for an iphone........the spelling was intended as another dig to the phone :p
This happened to me the first time the other night, and it was from my Android cell phone. For me, it was super weird because if I looked at the "eight day view" thumbnail of my album, my own selfie was replaced with the thumbnail of some dude, but then if I clicked on the thumbnail, it would be my selfie that popped up. Freaked me out a bit! :) Then I checked it out from my computer (a Mac) and it was all fine. I restarted my phone, and then it was fine, there, too.
oh I only recently found out that none of the apps close down when you close them (i know who knew right ??) and I also know that all the open apps cause the power the drain and worse your data to get eaten up!
@shadesofgrey I remember the conversation... :). And I love my iPhone... A lot... Although have yet to talk to Siri - much to the dismay of my children who enjoy tormenting her in my mom's iPhone ;p

Hopefully if you close them all it may be better ? @carolinedreams @northy
