I dont know how many of you on 365 are from Colorado, but I am and I just wanted to send out my prayers for all of the people and victims dealing with the shooting in Aurora, Colroado. It is just so sad, and I am sending out my prayers.
I'm in Colorado too and went to go see the batman movie last night, I almost felt guilty going. It was eerie that the theater was so empty. I thought of all those people during one particular scene when some bad guys broke into a place and starting shooting randomly. I got distracted and wondered when exactly during the movie James broke in. Afterwards my family was discussing how all those people in that theater were ever going to go to see a movie in a theater again. It's just so shocking.
I'm not from there right now, but I lived there when I was a teenager. I went to school in Loveland and lived for three years in Colorado Springs. I know people that were burned out and I know people in the Aurora area that sent their kids to the movies on the same night as the shooting (thankfully to a different theater). My mom still lives in Grand Junction and I plan to travel there in September for my annual visit. Colorado is at the top of my list right now.
I live just 3 miles from where this occurred. I finally made my way over to the make-shift memorial site last weekend. What a bone-chilling experience to be there. This has rocked our community. This photo below that I snapped of this gentleman, says it all. Just so hard to wrap my head around how and why this happened. :(
