Has anyone else been experiencing routine problems posting comments? For the past several days I have had problems posting comments. It begins to load and then it's almsot as though it freezes. I was thinking it was my computer, but I'm beginning to think it's the site because it is happening almost every day. Just curious.
Me too! Sometimes l have to do away and try later. Its only this site that seems to have the problem. Maybe it is overload. 365 has become too popular!
Yep. Me too. Refreshing the screen is very slow. I can't even get onto the site much. It seems to have it's moments when it's fine but mostly it just crawls.
that has happened to me several times. it also seems to take a while to navigate from place to place--from the home page to a specific photo, or to my own page, etc. i also just thought it was my computer, but perhaps not!
Me, too. Comments won't post; the site won't come off; the Site is "lost"......Allison started a thread last week with the problems she was experiencing and I think the situation has only been worst this week.
I have been experiencing that, too. There have also been times when I can't even get onto the site. It takes so long to upload that it just sort of quits trying.
I tried uploading my picture 4 times. Each time I clicked on the confrim date and tag the picture I got kicked back to my main page. I finally was able to use the simple loader to upload my picture.
Yes, I too have has problems posting. I then back out and post again and then there are 2 postings!
I've had issues uploading photos too. Yesterday I tried to load a different picture, a bit larger in size, and just gave up and posted my flower photos.
I raised the same issue here last week in hopes that Our Fearless Leader would respond with either a fix or assurances that he was working on it. So far, no change.I think it is a factor of the success of this site and all the photos in the pipeline. Come on people, more paid subscriptions leading to more money for greater bandwidth.
I have noticed this as well, but it is routinely during the same hours each day...perhaps too many things happening on the site all at once during those times? or daily site maintenance?
YES!!! I've become quite frustrated and, like Trevor, I've had to come back to it later. It's making it really hard to keep up with everyone's photos and it has been especially bad the past few days. There was a post similar to this last week(?) and I didn't see any response from 365 as to why....
What is really frustrating is when you are following a large number of people, you want to look at all the posting from your friends and comment on their work, but in all reality, you don't have time to sit and wait forever to be able to post. It is quite frustrating. I too think the site has become extremely popular and it is becoming overloaded. Hopefully they can work out this bug.
It's after midnight and I've been having trouble all night trying to get this site to open. I'm behind in looking at people's post partly because of all the trouble I've had the past several days. In the time I have available to look and post and comment I can't get the site to work. SOOOOOOOOO frustrating.....
Does Ross & Co EVER get back to us any of these comments/suggestions/etc, or does he just let us have our say and get on with it??
I have seen a lot of good suggestions on here to enhance this site but l have never seen any feedback.

I have and I was going threw commenting on lots of photos because I was so behind and then the site just froze up so I got out of it and when I went back to continue commenting all my comments were gone. I don't know whats up with it. There are also time that I can't get logged on. I just wait a while and when I come back on everything seems to be working right again.
Yes I have and my husband has been blaming me "mind is moving too fast for the computer - you have to give it time to do the first com mand before you go giving it more, your rushing".

I experience this now and again, re-freshng the page and the reposting seems to help, threads are normally ok for me its normally comments that just freezes.
Ross does reply now and again, but you have to respect he is only on who runs the website...there is no "Ross and Co". One would assume he has a lot of work to do.
Im glad Im not alone. I lost my comments about 2 weeks ago, but have not had trouble loading pics. This started with my P.C and Laptop, after I up dated MSN Messenger #8. My husbands PC and my work PC I have not updated and I can still get all the coments, etc. Also after updating I cant get to a number of MSN websites, and if I do they take hours to load. So I was thinking it may not be this sit itself, but if you updated this could be the cause of the problems..
@Aaron...well, thank you for informing us that there is only one Ross! If that is the case, l take my hat off to him for running this site single-handed. Somehow, l can't see that myself. Anyway, there are many hundreds of us that take a few minutes of our precious time to pass comments, etc so it would be nice to be kept informed with any problems on here rather than scratching our heads and wondering if it is our computer that is at fault.

Well Ross, if you are out there, and manage to read our problems, can you get one of those amazing Monkeys to fix our problems. It's 1pm here in Australia on Monday 9August and I have been on here for half an hour, just trying to upload my itty bitty photo, may not be too grand but by the time I get it on there I have lost half an hour that I needed to be doing something else. Now I uptight and wondering if I need this after all. Thanks and say hi to those adorable Monkeys for me. hugs
It's not even just posting comments for me. There are some days when it won't even load the page at all and I just have to come back to it later. And I know it's the site because every other page I go to will work on my computer.
Yes, just adding my bit to the above. Often find the site just 'freezes' and have to wait a fair while for it to come back on, or come back later. A particular nuisance when I'm in the middle of a comment and I lose the lot.

I told my husband last night - I need to quit telling people about this site! :) It has become too popular and the system can't handle all of us. Poor Ross - he didn't realize how popular his little project would become. I think everyone needs to pay the small fee and become members. It is worth it and Ross could use the $$ to upgrade his system.

Aww come on Freida I am nice to Ross most of the time...wink....but there are so many of us complaining l just feel we are owed an explanation if he has one. Having said all we have said it seems to be better now. Do people really think that by subscribing we would have a better service?
I know, its just only been three days since this thread was started, he could be snowed under at work, or on holiday!! I dont suppose he started this whole project to just wait for us to write to him :-)

So question to your statement...if Ross is on holiday/snowed under/busy etc....who is pulling out the popular shots and who updated the theme post only yesterday?And Rick started the thread on Sat. 7th after this problem had already been ongoing for some days. Over 30 people have taken the time and trouble to register their complaints/anguish/frustration about the site slowing down or not working at all. All l'm saying is it would take 2 mins to add a comment on this thread to put our minds at ease. I don't think its too much to ask of him/them....

Perhaps he popped in to do those posts, so he didnt let people down and is it fair to say that theres a difference in popping in to post new themes and trawling through all the topics that are started here? There are quite a few of those!!

You're a great guy Trevor, but think of it another way - you've had 65 days of fun.. take away 3-5 days of it being slow, which leaves you of 60 days of a little everyday fun on this site FOR FREE! You've made online friends, you've enjoyed the photography and you've said yourself that you are improving all the time. So doesnt that far outweigh the fact that its been a bit sticky here for a few days and that Ross hasnt replied to this post. He's a young man, having fun, and could be doing anything, he could be busy, on hols. For all we know his cats been run over and he doesnt feel like reading everything here!

There are moderators who can do things such as posting the photos, it's not always Ross that does that, so just because those things happen doesn't mean he's around.

Its a great site here and a little bit of patience is a good thing! I didnt mean to sound like have shouted you down, but its my opinion that you sounded unfair. And there is no reason to presume Ross reads every thread that is posted here, I know I dont myself.
Sometimes people just dont appreciate what they have and are always looking for more more more.
Patience is one thing Freida and l would like to think over my 50 odd years l am pretty good at that by now. But, l think you should be taking a leaf from your own book, and show some patience to those who you don't agree with. If we all acted on here the way you have towards me over this issue it would be too awful to contemplate.

Similarly if this site were a baying mob of WHY IS THIS SO SLOW GRR ROSS I HATE YOU it would be too awful to contemplate, and people would leave... ironically enough fixing some of the speed issues in the process. Freida has only been trying to redress the balance and highlight the counterpoints, I don't really see her having "treated" you in any particularly nefarious way.
Either way. Ross does this, essentially, for free. It's not a profit-making enterprise. The ace membership is only even there to attempt to cover his costs, and when I spoke to him about it (some time ago now) it wasn't even doing this. Chizzle with the stizzle, bizzle.
This place is free, its a great place, and its done pretty much out of the kindness of another chap who likes photography.

You're the one who is showing little patience towards him and his site and for what? A few slow days. I've been on many internet sites and people are so quick to forget the person at the base of it, and its so easy to be impatient towards them without thinking.
I hear your frustration over the lack of reply and the slowness, but rather than get uptight and vent my frustrations on how a website is run, I just switch off and go back later. Its how I am, I do not see how getting het up acheives anything. If you do not like how the site is ran, be it slowness, competitions/voting or whatnot, feel free to start your own. If its better than here then great, I would be honoured to join yours too. But for the time being, I like it here and was just trying to point out that a little slowness is no big thing. Yes, there have been some issues with load over the last few days. We've had some serious spikes in traffic causing the site to slow down at peak times.
We're trying our best to keep the site as much as possible and hopefully the problems will be remedied soon. As mentioned by a few people in this thread already, 365 Project is not a huge business venture backed by investors with $$$ to blow, it's run by me, in my spare time. I do my best to keep the site as responsive and trouble free as possible, but alas, even I need to sleep!
Thank you for your support and understanding. And of course a big thank you to all those with Ace memberships who really are supporting the improvements and running costs of our great community.
Oh Heck...this could go on and on and on.. l obviously view Rick's comments differently to you and, one or two others. Thing is, we are all experiencing the same problem on here. Please don't view this as a moan. I have offered to end this but you still have to have another dig. Sorry no more time for this 'discussion'! Life is too short!
I've noticed it but I'm also on dialup so I only go on when I have plenty of time to spare anyways. I'm patient, although I do hope the slowness is addressed
I would totally become an ace member, but I have neither PayPal nor credit card and the PayPal E-Check thing doesn't actually work here in Germany (my friend whom I would do the transaction with has researched), so once more options for pay become available (direct transactions from one bank account to another with Europe for example), I'm totally in and willing ti support this site!
