What's this green thing? (Beware, spiders!)

My grandfather took this shot.



Now he (and me, too!) wants to know, what's this green thing.
We saw it in several pictures (also shots of different individuals), so we don't think, it's a plant.

So do you know, what it is? Or do you know someone, who might know that?

This is my macro of the Phidippus audax. I looked it up and the green things are just part of the mouth not fangs as I originally thought. I took this picture of the spider on the outside of the window. It started flashing the green things when I tapped the glass with my lens. Yikes!
