This post is inspired by aaron commenting on my other thread... so lets have it people, whats your WORST EVER photo on 365. Name and shame. There are so many to pick from but here's my chocie :
What : me on the eurotunnel on the way to France
Why :
- its totally out of focus, makes my eyes hurt just looking at it
- colour is crap
- subject matter is crap
Well, this has got me looking through all my photos in chronological order, and... basically for the first couple months I'm just spoiled for choice. To single out one as the worst would be doing an injustice to so many others!
Hard to pick a worst too. There are a couple that came out okay, but I feel blah about them, but this one, the color is bad, the exposure is too dark, the subject matter could have been arranged better. It was good soup though.
Ok ok, well, given that all my old ones were shit, here's a more recent shit one, which stands out because I'm supposed to be less shit by now, but clearly this is not always the case
Okay--this is too funny. Yes, there are several I look at now and go, "Ugh, what was I thinking?" This was my first and only time using PhotoShop. I worked so hard on it and pretty much hate it now. Not the concept, just how it turned out. Oh well!
Here is my worst, there were some others I wasn't completely happy with but thit is easily my least favorite.
What: "Perpetual Motion Machine" at the mall where a ball is always in motion
My excuse: Endless hours on a bus
In truth: Shot is totally uninspired, I was lazy and a little desperate
I love this thread.. This one I hate so much but I was busy that day and in a hurry so even though I didn't like it I posted it anyways. Its so blurry.
Dunno what I was thinking! So so SO bad. Made worse by trying to make it more interesting by rephotographing the scene and then loading it up on the computer for the next pic. Doh!!
Funny idea for a thread :-)
im pretty ashamed of this. but i had just landed in israel, and i was about to fall asleep. so i just took a quick piture with this blue light thing... :)
It's hideous. It was the first time I hadn't managed to take a photo by midnight; it'd been such a busy day and before I knew it, it was 23:58 so I excused myself and attempted to get a photo of the beach / moon / trees and ende dup with this.
I had a hard time choosing! When you start getting super critical you can find so many things that suck! Here's my top but it was tied with six other ones at least! I took this on my way home from work one morning, dead tired from night shift. It's way too dark and just looks like shit. The snowman was awesome though! I wish I could have captured him better. The kids did a great job building him!
Is just painful, and vile and gross and urgh! Every time I see that picture I really want to pull it off, or change it, or scribble all over it, or something xD
I like this thread!! =)
I would easily choose this as my worst. i thought it was so cool at first because I made it with sprinkles that you put on top of cupcakes, but probably the next day after I put it up, I was regretting it. The processing is a nightmare, and it just looks very, very amateur!! Ah well - ya live and ya learn. Just for the record, too, this was not taken for this theme - it was back at the beginning of my project. I'd like to think I am somewhat better than this now-a-days. :) Here it is.
But this was my first photo on 365...before I'd seriously thought about subject matter and discovered the joys of picnik.
I still cringe everytime I see it, as part of me just wants to at least go back and enhance the colour, or something.
I don't really like MOST of the pictures that I took that first week.
I hate the color of this dining room wall, so what possessed me to think that taking a picture of the shadow of the chandelier would be any more inspiring? Every time I look at it...I hate it just as much as I hate the color IRL. And of course, that's not the only one I cringe at, LOL.
This was a really bad day for me, one of those days where you have grand plans and everything just goes to shit. I hate seeing this photo in my calendar, it is just so boring but I was desperate.
Oh man! I can't decide which shot is crappier! Hmmm... Let's see... We have the two guys up on the roof starting work on redoing the roof and replacing the A/C - Not that you can actually see anything they are doing:
Or this out of focus crappy shot of my oleander in the front yard:
To be fair to myself, these were taken in the same week: I had thrown out my back, I was loaded up on various meds, I was not getting enough rest due to all the noise from the work being done in the first photo and my groove was definitely lost for a bit. But isn't this part of the point of 365? Chronicling 365 days of your life - the good, the bad and the ugly. I am just grateful that so much of it is good. =)
This is it:
It was a yummy meal, but definitely my worst picture here so far. It's just horrible. The colours are all weird and the focus does not exist. But it's the only picture I had for the day and I'm trying hard to keep up with the whole one picture a day for a year thing.
This would probably be one of mine...it was one of my first days of the project, and before I started using anything for editing. Simply a cropped photo which did not turn out very sharp or detailed after the fact.
wow! awesome topic! i knew right away what mine would be. it's my 2nd shot in my project...one of those "okay, it's 1015 and i need a picture" type of things... but, at least with the bad shots, we're able to see the progression towards better ones, right??
@Autumn, when I saw that photo straight away I thought "its mario and luigi!" heh heh. For the record, showing more than 1's cheating :P
maybe I should rummage through mine again and throw up some more crap ...
This shot sucks. I have others, but this one came to mind. I went out to my truck, pulled the cover off far enough to expose the emblem and bursted several equally lame shots.
heres mine.... i dnt know why i posted this one.... 75 viewers, but thanks to slava....
and the story behind it..... its non-sense .. LOLS .... now im laughing... haha..
wow, there are so many great bad photos! I think mine is worthy of this thread. It's disguting to look at, not even creative, and who cares about the size of a cow's liver anyway?
@Weng - Get posting!!! It was such a toss up that I could not choose. That week was pretty horrible all the way around but I figured it best not to post all of them! LOL.
Out of the weeks worth of images I have in my project I don't really have a worst......I'll just say this is the one I like the least. I have plenty of worsts in my computer though.
hahah ohhh this thread is great.
yea this is definitely my worst photo.
4th one I ever uploaded.
dont know WHAT I was thinking when I added the effect :P
I hope no one's offended, but I chuckled quite a bit as a scanned through this. I'm realizing that I started just as a girl with a little point and shoot, but have now developed into quite the amateur photographer!
That being said... Well, this one is just horrible. I took it because it amused me. Ohhh how much I've learned and still have to learn.... =)
I don't even know where to begin with mine. SO, I'll start at the very beginning!
I'm not sure if there was some great/funny/amazing meaning behind this one at the time, but I can't remember what that would be! BTW, I acutally like many of people's worst!
Terrible lighting, bad composition. I just got a bunch of butts! I was trying to capture the teams having prayer before the game. I should have focused close up on the hands being held? Maybe I could have gotten closer and helped overcome the bad lighting and composition.
heehee. i like this thread!! and i have a lot of photos that i think are ugly.
1. This one is literally ugly, but it was during the alphabet challenge for the letter F and i couldn't find and Flying Fresh Fruits so I opened my freezer and found this.
2. Now, i don't know what i was thinking when i did this one. it's not the actual subject that's ugly. i know a hundred people in this site who can shoot the same subject and have it turn out beautifully....i just failed on this one...from framing, angle, editing...everything,really.
3. This is just poorly composed.
4. Again, this idea could've been made amazing by someone else and i totally butchered it. Wrong kind of editing....atrocious lighting...blah.
5. I thought this was a cool concept when i did this. heehee.
hmm ... even my best are pretty bad. how about this little tidbit of performance art. lol ... look how much smaller Rocco was just a few months ago. lol
I really dislike this shot, I hate the positioning, I hate that it's poorly lit and SO obviously taken with a flash. Love the subject matter though, no matter how badly her mum takes a photo she is still a cutie.
I am so disappointed in this shot. I love these chickens but I took so many trying to get a good picture and they kept moving and blurring the shot. I ended up with only one actually looking towards the camera and all the others with their heads turned away. It looks messy.
Hahaha! I can't believe I've just posted the above as my worst shot and now it's been posted on Browse and Pick as one that somebody really likes! No accounting for all our different tastes. I actually like some of the above that others are beating themselves up about. Maybe we're sometimes too hard on ourselves.
I have a couple of my own that aren't exactly my fav's or aren't from a creative eye, this one in particular is plain and simply awful, especially since I actually tried to be a bit creative here and failed miserably. The only good thing is that the pancake was delicious! LOL!
There are so many to choose from but I narrowed it down to this:
What : Chair in an abandoned pubs cellar
Why :
- its blatantly using an aweful flash
- colour is crap
- subject matter is crap
- there is another subject IN FRONT OF the intended subject matter
- all round shit really
Excuse :
- I was shitting myself that police would catch me after having broken into the building!
Bummer I copied the worst but lost it when I went to post it in here
It is 21/365 Van Gogh look alike (who was I kidding not even on His worst days) But I was chuckling all the time I was putting it on here. I do love a good joke and my humour has often been commented on.
Thread this is wonderful.
I'm sorry that I am so thick that I have trouble with these basic down loads.
Way way too many crap photos but I'll go with this - terrible lighting, reflection in tank glass, didn't do any justice to my beautiful fish, didn't even know photo editing software exsisted - yep that is how disconnected from the world I am - only have basic point and shoot camera and knew nothing at all about photography...such as ISO, DOF, Composition Rules, Apeture,BOKEH, anything really, I just saw a picture, aimed camera not thinking about anything and pressed the button...
As for improving as the project has progressed I think I'm failing dismally in that department too...now have software but cant use it properly 99% of time..still point and shoot camera with low abilities, can't take in and remember any of the info I read about taking better photos or post processing and most magazines are dedicated to people with DSLR camera or at least camera's way above mine in specifications so there is not much I can do and my comments are getting less and less and less which is really confusing me as earlier in my project I had way less followers and way more comments and now more followers and way less comments...go figure...disheartening is the best way to sum it up...
BTW....so many of the above photos people have posted as their worst are awesome...
I am with you guys. I have so many that I don't like because I was just uninspired and just snapped something. Bad photos of my kids don't bother me. That is real life. Bad photos of dumb stuff...that is another story. lol
Mine would have to be...almost my entire first two months of my project! Ugh, I was so uncomfortable with photography as a means of expression and creativity and way more consumed with checking off the fact that I had taken a picture for the day. Here is a prime example of the complete and utter lack-lusterness that was my project when i first started this endeavor...

Jan 31st:
Why did I even bother turning up
What: "Perpetual Motion Machine" at the mall where a ball is always in motion
My excuse: Endless hours on a bus
In truth: Shot is totally uninspired, I was lazy and a little desperate
This, without a doubt. Total "What am I going to photograph today?!" day. Totally uninspired.
Why: - poorly composed
- poorly lit
- totally visually unappealing
- completely uninspired
Wished I'd never bought this up now! ahaha
Breakfast
-Far too much going on
-Too much colour
-No thought put in it, it was just breakfast
-Uninspiring
-Just lame
what: shoes hanging from electrical lines
why: the subject, the shoes, is totally not focused, and there is a LOT of noise
oh well nothing to do but live, shoot, and learn- right?
I was really sick when I took this. Looking back, I like the colors but I could have rearranged the pillow so it looks like a pillow.
Hate it ugh

No sir, I don't like it.
Really? What the hell was I thinking?.......
Is just painful, and vile and gross and urgh! Every time I see that picture I really want to pull it off, or change it, or scribble all over it, or something xD
worst picture. bad cropping. boring colors. but i think i was more proud of the fact that i actually cooked something. had to show it here. :)
I would easily choose this as my worst. i thought it was so cool at first because I made it with sprinkles that you put on top of cupcakes, but probably the next day after I put it up, I was regretting it. Ewww, what was I thinking?
heres one from me , i have so many but this one i just wished it was sharper ...
Not quite sure what the point of this was! Badly lit, badly composed, doesn't tell a story, just generally rubbish!
I was so mad that it stung me, it was a quick shot. Poorly arranged and not sharp enough.
But this was my first photo on 365...before I'd seriously thought about subject matter and discovered the joys of picnik.
I still cringe everytime I see it, as part of me just wants to at least go back and enhance the colour, or something.
I don't really like MOST of the pictures that I took that first week.
This one is icky. I wasn't even trying at all. Towards the beginning, I wasn't inspired. Now I am! :)
There are lots of them, but this is the least inspired I thought
I hate the color of this dining room wall, so what possessed me to think that taking a picture of the shadow of the chandelier would be any more inspiring? Every time I look at it...I hate it just as much as I hate the color IRL. And of course, that's not the only one I cringe at, LOL.
Whoop De Dooo! A bird with stupid dandelions on the grass....*****yawn*****
Or this out of focus crappy shot of my oleander in the front yard:

Day 66
and Im not fond of this one either
yea this is definitely my worst photo.
4th one I ever uploaded.
dont know WHAT I was thinking when I added the effect :P
That being said... Well, this one is just horrible. I took it because it amused me. Ohhh how much I've learned and still have to learn.... =)
Thats a great shot, it just needs the color cast removed.
I'm not sure if there was some great/funny/amazing meaning behind this one at the time, but I can't remember what that would be! BTW, I acutally like many of people's worst!
Yup, that's a dead bird in a tree...
yeah, definitely my worst. It's not focused. It's one of my first photos on this project. the colours are vibrant but the background is atrocious.
This one of Thai is horrendous =(
I regretted putting it up without properly fixing it first!

5. I thought this was a cool concept when i did this. heehee.
I needed something quick and only had my cell phone with me. Ugh.
It's out of focus.
This was a run and gun shot just to have the deer recorded. this is a pure snapshot.
I guess this one could have been better angled:
& still have doubts about this one, not liking the crop too much:
&
this one I may have over processed!
Howcome I can't scroll down to the main sizes!? Anyways, that's my 2cents!!!
I am so disappointed in this shot. I love these chickens but I took so many trying to get a good picture and they kept moving and blurring the shot. I ended up with only one actually looking towards the camera and all the others with their heads turned away. It looks messy.

or no no no this one!!!:
or gosh this one:
oh wow this is embarrassing i have so many bad ones i cant decidee!! :

Look at this, for heaven's sake!

I love that a lot of people's responses were "what was I thinking?" heh heh
Definitely have to learn less is more!! Far to much going on... I guess that is because I edited a really crappy photo to begin with!
I am with you guys. I have so many that I don't like because I was just uninspired and just snapped something. Bad photos of my kids don't bother me. That is real life. Bad photos of dumb stuff...that is another story. lol
