Polish-born Maciej Dakowicz's work has made headlines for the violence and drunkenness it shows, but his epic study of Cardiff nightlife is also a hymn to camaraderie and hedonism
Dakowicz photographed the same few streets in Cardiff, primarily St Mary Street and Caroline Street, on a Saturday night for five years, between 2006 and 2011
Cardiff After Dark will be exhibited at the Third Floor Gallery, Cardiff, from 12 October to 2 December
I oddly enjoyed those photos and had a good laugh at one in particular. Love how he ventured 'outside' the norm of photography? If that isnt already OK? To some, not there taste in photos, this was brilliant! Loved all the photos. Thanks for sharing, now this has peaked my interest in trying to take different photos of my own. Now to only get past fear of doing so….;)
Fantastic photos - really captures the surreality of a British Saturday night - I've seen one or two of them before too. That is one brave photographer.
