What's the one thing you think would make 365project better?

August 21st, 2010
Personally, I think the only thing missing from 365project is a PM feature.

What's a PM feature?
August 21st, 2010
Private messaging, Elizabeth.

Notifications of replies to comments on other people's photos, notifications of replies to threads you've commented in, mostly.

i think a page similar to the popular page, with thumbnails on, but just based on random selection, not popularity. it would be a cool way to find new people.

I second Steve's request.

After about 50 replies in a discussion, it should go on to a second page.

I'd also like to be able to search through the discussion forums.

I second Shannon's recommendation about private messaging and Josh's suggestion about a search feature on the discussion forum.

I would really love PM. But I would also love notifications of replies.

I don't particularly care if there is a PM feature but notice of replies to comments that I've made on other people's photos, and the ability to turn that off if it gets overwhelming, would be GREAT! If someone makes a comment asking me a question I always try and go to their photo to comment back but not everyone knows to do that so I probably miss a lot of stuff.

I honestly don't think we really need a PM system, I like things being simple. Maybe a notification that someone's replied to your comment might be nice occasionally, but I really like how simple the site is generally :)

I agree with the notification of reply on a person's photo. I also think the discussion feature of different pages is a great idea too. My first choice, however, would be the notifications of reply. =)

I'd love the ability to group the people I follow into lists. (e.g people who live in the same city)
I would also like the personal profile section to encourage people to show their location (at least their country), Many pictures would make much more sense if I knew where they were taken.

I still don't understand the concept of the "popular" page. The title just seems offputting to me. Not that I want to be popular, but I like one of the suggestions above (Katie's) that there also be a page for randomly picked photos, or maybe just rename the "popular" bit.

An "@reply" sort of thing, so I get a notification if someone's talking to me, even if it's not on one of my photos...

Also, discussion threads should go to another page, after, say, thirty posts?

I would really enjoy a private message function as well. Also, whenever someone comments on my pics, I try to write back to them...but I usually do that on my own photos and have no idea if they ever see my responses to what they wrote. So, I would love to have members notified if the photog leaves a comment in response to a comment left on a picture (sorry, it sounds a little confusing, I hope that you are able to follow). I LOVE the suggestions feature that is given to ACE members, but would love for that feature to be elaborated on further to really see a broader scope of the work that is on this incredible site.

So, pretty much...I agree with everything that everyone has already said.

Sorry, I only just looked up @ the other responses : )

I want to know where people live. The photos are so beautiful and I know our members are all over the globe. I wish it was listed right with our name.
August 22nd, 2010
I agree with Suzie Townsend. I see a great photo..wonder where it was taken.. click on their profile picture butthey don't always tell you where they live..

Reading all the responses I'm starting to become partial to the notification idea too. That's a really good idea.
Hoping the admin sees this thread and considers granting some of our wishes. Lack of these features is what stops me from getting an ACE membership.

I find the email feature works well for replies/comments, I'm fine with that personally. But private messaging would be great too, and a search in the discussion forum so you make sure you're not repeating a thread that already was posted a while back. Replying to specific comments and that being notified would be a great idea, since, as mentioned above, sometimes you want to reply to a specific comment and don't know if they get your reply.

I love Katie Rose Allan's idea for a random page of thumbnails to view others' pics. I like the popular page because i find new photos that i haven't seen before, but it would be nice if they weren't always ones picked by someone else based on their opinion of what's great. :)

I agree with Nancy, I think there is too much emphasis on "popularity". Some great photographers go unnoticed while the same people stay "popular" because they have a lot of followers. Popularity because a lot of people comment on your photos is not my idea of fun.
August 22nd, 2010
Oh yes, being able to reply to comments, and see what are replies and getting notifications of them. It's very difficult now sometimes to keep track of replies on comments you post somewhere, especially if you venture out of the view of the people you follow regularly. Seems so impolite not to take notice of any replies.

Katie and Lacey...regarding the random page...If you're an ace member, you'll get just that! It's called "Suggestions", and it's a random assortment of photos that will lead you to people you might not know of otherwise.

Signing up to support 365 will bring both you and the rest of the group many additional benefits!

I would like a privacy setting. My 365 project is limited because the site is open and anybody can view my photos and comments. For security reasons I have to be very careful on what I post.

i would love to have an iphone app which would allow me to upload phtos on the run!

We have tried to encourage people to put at least a minimal bit of information on their profile but still I find a lovely picture and want to know at least where in the world it was taken and find there's nothing there. You don't need to reveal yourself and I totally understand people's want to be private but a country would be nice.

Direct Messaging would be nice, I agree :)
