I don't know if it is because i am not appearing much around here, but to me at least 365 project was much more agitated in the beginning.
I had more people discussing, commenting and so on.
Now that is rare.
I guess i need new people to follow, because a lot of the people i used to follow left the project, stopped or ended it.
I was in the same boat to be honest. I founfd that adding people who's photos you like and commenting will get people following you. Also joining in with some of the challenges gets interaction up a lot. Can recomend the WWYD and Mothly word list challenges as good ones. Also the weekly theme challenge. Post regular varied shots etc
I decided not to follow anymore people because it's just too time consuming. As a result I don not expect anyone else to follow me in return, of course.
I joined in Oct '11 and things were pretty quiet. Then in January with lots of new people starting off the year things picked up and I followed and was followed by lots of newbies. Slowly they started dropping off and so did the excitement. I expect the same coming up in 2013. :)
Christmas is round the corner - folk are notoriously busy at this time of the year - as Mr.T says - there'll be lots of enthused newbies starting on the 1st Jan - we'll all be complaining we can't keep up then!!!
I have followed you for some time...you have some great photos! I have found that when I miss a period of time (usually just when I am out of town) it takes a while to build back up. The more you comment on others photos, the more they reciprocate. And mass uploads sometimes overwhelm 365ers with limited time. So I try to spread mine out by just doing the current day and one additional day until I catch up. You are an excellent photographer and I am certain if you immerse yourself in others work by commenting, you will grow your list of followers!
I took three weeks off to move. I thought I could keep up part time, but turns out I just had nothing left in my brain at the end of the day. Even a simple shot of a fork or spoon would have been too much.
Now I'm getting back and it is slow around here, but I'm hoping that in January it will take off again. For now I'm just getting back to the pressure of a daily photo and hoping to comment on every photo I can of the many people I follow!
Interesting - comparing 365 to any other photo sharing sites I've been on, it seems to me this is one where people actually try to look at and comment on everyone else's work. Maybe we're just spoiled? :)
i don't mind to be loner. i will never look through all my followers photos to be honest. it's just too many photos. But i do leave comments and fav when i see things i really like.
Go to the day pages and look at who is posting, it's not hard to find new people to follow. Or browse the New faces page. I have found that the project is exciting at first and then it becomes more about your own reasons for doing it.
