Okay, I am in need of some help... Please!!! My boyfriend just purchased a Nikon EM SLR camera from an estate sale..
It included a Sigma F28 1:2.8 lens,
a Nikon E 75-150mm 1:3.5 lens,
a Nikon E 100 1:2.8 lens,
and a Nikon E 50 mm 1.8..
He seems to think that they may actually work on my Nikon D5100, in manual mode.. I am excited to see if they might work. Anyone ever use any of these and does Nikon's SLR lenses work with a DSLR???? BTW. he paid 50.00 for all of it and a nice camera bag, and several filters. I'd have to say... not too shabby... if nothing else, I can hope the SLR works..
I have been using old lenses on a dslr (Panasonic, not nikon) and have looked into adapters etc. I had a quick look for your lenses and found this that may explain whether yours will be compatible. Its great fun finding lenses and playing with them. http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16436/kw/D5000/r_id/116678
@monika64 awesome Monika, I went onto NIkons site but I got a bit confused.. I see that the Nikon ones should work.. not sure about the sigma .. will find out tomorrow..

I found a really good price for an "F" mount lens. I have a D5100 and my husband has a D3100 - will this lens work in manual without an adapter?
@myhrhelper - Most likely yes, but what lens did you find? There are very few lenses that won't work with the D5100 and D3100 in manual mode. They will be manual focus, and likely manual metering as well, but they'll mount up and work.
The lenses that won't work are IX lenses (for APS film SLRs) and a few old big fisheye's that require mirror lockup.
I get to try them out tomorrow..
